Older tanks may have internal rust, pinholes, damaged seams or previous repairs. Condition is assessed before any restoration path is agreed.

Shape, clearance and mounting
One-off tank work must account for the frame, engine, controls, rider position, filler, tap or pump, venting and secure mounts.
Leak & damage assessment
Repair only when it makes sense
Impact damage, corrosion and thinned material can affect more than the visible fault. The full tank needs to be considered before welding or coating decisions are made.
Preparation
Safe handling comes first
The tank must be completely drained and suitable preparation and decontamination requirements will be confirmed before workshop work begins.
